Advance scheduling

One must apply for the test with the ADA and receive the eligibility letter prior to scheduling the testing appointment. Exams are administered year-round in almost all centers. To increase the likelihood one will receive your first choice of date, time and location, one should schedule 60 to 90 days before the desired examination date. Please remember to schedule the examination appointment after receipt of the eligibility letter.

Canceling the examination appointment will result in a complete forfeiture of the examination fee. Take the test. Immediately after completion of the DAT, a test score report and explanation is provided directly from the testing Center. This unofficial report is subject to evaluation and audit for accuracy before official reporting of scores. This will be the only copy. Official outcome will be sent directly to dental schools approximately 3-4 weeks after the test. An authorized score report will be sent to the dental schools requested on the DTA, five score reports are included in the application fee. Requests for score information after the test are subject to delay and extra expense.

Once a request for scores has been made, no changes will be allowed. The testing plan is designed to measure general academic ability, comprehension of scientific in rank and perceptual ability. While all dental schools need examinees to contribute in the dental admission testing program, test results are only one issue considered in evaluating the admission potential of an examinee.

Launch the dental career:

The Dental Admission Test or DTA is a multiple choice consistent exam taken by dental school students. The DAT is a computer based test that can be administered approximately any day of the year.

Once taking the exam, one may not take the exam again for another 90 days. Immediately after achievement of the test, eight standard scores on a scale of 1-30 are planned and passed on to the test taker. The first six scores come straight from the test: perceptual ability, quantitative analysis, biology, general chemistry and organic chemistry.
