Before leaving the counselor's place, make sure to have the following supplies like a small notebook with list of colleges and questions, a pen or pencil and a backpack or tote-bag to hold all of the college information. Try to ask information like sessions on the search process, applications, financial aid and other issues. These sessions are a great place to ask general questions about the college admission process and counselors are the right person to guide about the procedure of the admission. They also advise to choose the right college to take admission. The notebook and pen are great tools for keeping all those conversations straight. After leaving a table, jot down the impressions of the college and the answers the admission counselor gave. Try to do this before visiting the next table, while impressions are still fresh. Teaming up: Both students and parents may be encouraged to attend the counselors. If a family member attends the counselor, talk about the plan ahead of time. parent can ask the financial aid so that they have a fair idea of college fees. One may find that parents or siblings ask different questions. Also, it can be helpful to get a second opinion on the impressions of particular colleges.
